Rarely do you find one of these....It is an original unopened 1920's box of lemon flavor JELL-O and features the little Jell-o girl on it. I believe the exact date is circa 1924. It still contains the original Jell-o in it which is hard and solid from age no longer causing stain. It has stains from the contents--see pics. and a bulge at bottom end. The box is made of a strong thick cardboard....no cuts or tears. The older Jell-o boxes like this one were larger in size than the later year boxes. In the earliest Jell-o years there were only 5 basic flavor varities as this box shows on the side panel...They were Lemon, Orange, Raspberry, Strawberry and Cherry, this one as noted is Lemon. It has wonderful very early graphics on the box and still shows off well even with the stains. The stain is generally confined to the back side, but also other staining on it as well.--see pics. Here is a bit of history on the famous "Little Jell-o Girl"....She was the first branded trade mark used. She made her debut in 1904 on the packages. Her name was Elizabeth King, the daughter of Franklin King, an artist for the Genesee's ad agency. She was shown playing in her nursery, not with toys but with Jell-o packages, and the rest is advertising history. It will certainly make an original attractive display in your glass show case or on your collectible
