This RPPC is of a horsedrawn sledge across the icebound Vladivostock Harbour in Russia in 1920. See people and horse drawn sled. It came to me with a number of other RPPC collected by a ship's doctor who served on the U.S.S. Albany in ports from Vladivostok to Shanghai and in between. The ship was in Vladivostok to support the U.S. Expeditionary force occupying the city during the Russian Revolution. See my other listings. This card is used with a note from the doctor on the back. The writing says, " This is the way the Harbor freezes over." See photo. This is an amazing period piece and collector's item.
