You are bidding on an old (original owner thought 1920s to 1930s) badge issued for the "TRAFFIC SARGEANT" working near the Watsonville School, located in Watsonville California. Watsonville is located in Santa Cruz County Ca. This old badge came out of a California token / exonumia collection. If you collect old tokens, you recognize "Irvine Jachens SF" maker marks on the reverse of this badge...they also made tokens in the early 1900s for western states, predominately California. I am NOT an expert on badges....but this seems old...this is how I got it, missing back pin...but at least the clasps to hold pin are intact (relatively easy to add a pin if you so chose)...also note discoloration...I have not even tried to clean this. Old badge is likely white metal or nickel plating over brass, six sided star shape, about 51mm in diameter (much larger than diameter silver dollar), and it has strong features, but has some discoloration and missing pin (please see pictures in gallery) Consider this "as is" have sure seen a lot worse :) One side says : " TRAFFIC SARGEANT (pictorial of california state seal "eureka") WATSONVILLE SCHOOL " Other side says " IRVINE & JACHENS S.F. " OLD TRAFFIC SARGEANT BADGE...ONCE USED NEAR THE OLD "WATSONVILLE SCHOOL" Thanks so much for looking....collect and invest in history!!!!! Tangible assets are always the best ones .
