GUIDO CACCIAPUOTI FAB FIND!! Highly stylized fighting Rams bookends by Italian Master Guido Cacciapuoti (1892-1953). Cacciapuoti along with his brothers, father and grandfather had a long family history of making ceramic sculptures in gres. He is concidered the best Italian animalist of the 19th Century. Each bookend measures approx. 7.5"H X 6" X 2.75", featuring a Cubist Art deco style ceramic Ram with a metalic silver finish. Each is mounted on a wood base. Both bases retain remnents of the paper label stating "MADE IN ITALY CACCIAPUOTI CERAMICHE E GRES D ARTE" with a No. PLUS both are signed on the belly "G. Cacciapuoti". Both are in very GOOD condition with minor patina to the silver indicative of age.
