Old Sunset Mountain Pottery large vase or apothecary in a very pretty blue. Does have two glaze misses on the inside of the rim as shown in the second photo and a glaze chip as shown in the fourth picture. T is also a chip on the base as shown in the 7th picture. This is an outstanding piece of North Carolina pottery! It measures 11" across and 6" tall. The pieces I see listed on the internet which in no way compare to this vase have asking prices of $160.00 to $440.00 Info as found on the internet: Sunset Mountain Pottery was made by J. B. Cole's Pottery and sold by a business named The Treasure Chest in Asheville, NC. The Treasure Chest and another mountain crafts business, Log Cabin, were combined and incorporated in 1932 as Three Mountaineers, Inc. The business eventually came to focus on wooden furniture and other wooden articles. The Sunset Mountain Pottery line was discontinued in 1935.
