For your consideration is this 1920’s Era ( 1920-1925 ) Art Deco SOLID Black American Walnut ‘Bulls-Eye’ Dining or Library Trestle Table . It is commonly used today as a serving table, large writing desk or blue print/plan table. This table would fit nicely into any dining room, office or study with antique or 1920’s accents. As you can see from my photos this table is in excellent condition and of very high quality. The table is in fact an American response to the many European revivals of the time with influences of Jacobean, William and Mary, Mediterranean, etc., and is representative of the classic American Art Deco style of the time. DESCRIPTION: Made of SOLID old growth Black American Walnut stained medium dark, there are few imperfections. In these days of furniture made with cheaper veneers, this table reflects the American craftsman at their best in the days when things were made to last. Except for the very top of the table’s surface, the finish and patina all appear original. The table top may have been refinished at some point in the past, but I’m not absolutely certain, it’s near perfect. No cracks, splits, hazing, or any significant scratches or dings. The table top measures approximately 31 ¾ X 71 ½ inches (about 6 feet long). It seats a maximum of 6, two chairs in the middle on each side and one on each end. Most comfortably it seats 4. From floor to the table top measures 28 ¾ inches and 24 inches to the bottom of the incised table top molding. Outside span of bottom of base is 52 ½ inches and the trestle is 4 feet long. Each SOLID walnut base end is 2 1/8 inches thick and the small ‘double bulls-eye’ at the bottom bases measure about 3 ¾ inches wide. Four metal coasters on the bottom of the bases are about the size of a silver dollar which makes it easy to slide. This table has the original hardware used to attach the tabletop to the trestle base. It is obviously USED but in excellent condition. This is not a contemporary reproduction NIB item but a serious antique. This table was originally from the San Francisco area. It was a wedding present to my grandfather that got married there on June 6, 1926; his last name appears on the bottom. He gave it to my mother in as a wedding present the early 1950s. My sister and I acquired this table from my mother’s estate. Several antique authorities have dated it to 1920-1925. All I have done to it is wipe off the dust with a towel and feather dust the details. SHIPPING DETAILS : Local Pickup in Wylie, Texas, is preferred. I do own a pickup up truck and would be willing to drive or meet within a 200 mile radius of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for FREE . This library table will disassemble. The trestle is pressed into the base ends, as I have tried to show in one of the pictures. I gently worked the trestle barely out on one end but hesitate to remove it completely. I could completely disassemble, crate and package this table for free. Buyer would pay for all shipping costs via their desired method and I would deliver crate to said shipper. I don’t make money off of shipping and could 'Request Money" via PayPal to the penny separately for the shipping cost. This table is heavy but not extremely heavy, probably around 100-125 pounds. The shipping cost is probably little overall compared to acquiring this exquisite table. SHIPPING TERMS: I will ship only to a Confirmed Ebay Address with Signature Confirmation . Unless the shipper drives a forklift over the crate, I am certain I will be able to crate and package this so that no damage occurs in transit. The buyer would determine shipping method and pay additional shipping cost. I will package and crate for free. PayPal only. No International shipping, farrarlight is leading the way to GREAT STUFF CHEAP (Except for some extremely rare stuff) !!! From a Smoke Free, Pet Free, Green Energy Efficient, Mostly Organic, We Recycle, Patriotic American Environment. THANX FOR LOOKING & GOOD LUCK TO ALL BIDDERS
