1920's Crown Ducal Blue Chintz Cup and Saucer Pattern Crown Ducal Blue Chintz Pattern No 1185 A vintage English chintz in the Crown Ducal "Blue Chintz" pattern. The transfer features a vibrant, bright blue background covered with various tropical birds, flowers, branches and foliage. Description A very rate octagonal earthenware cup and round saucer with an all over "Blue Chintz" transfer pattern no 1185 with a black trim. Manufactured by A.G Richardson under the trademark Crown Ducal in the early 1920's. Pattern was discontinued in 1926. Size (approx) Cup: Diameter: 3.75" (9.5 cm), Height: 2.125" (5.4 cm) Saucer: 5.75" (14.6 cm) Condition Excellent No discoloration and surprisingly for their age there is virtually no crazing. There is a very faint hairline on the inside of the cup, which is only visible in direct light. I've had to augment the hairline to get it to display in the picture below.
