RARE 1920s BING NEW YORK CENTRAL OBSERVATION TRAIN CAR This is an antique tin litho observation car made by Bing (Germany) for the US market. It was made in the 1920s. Most of the tin litho design is still in good condition but there is some spots of wear, mostly on the roof. The couplers are attached on one side, on the other is the observation railed platform. This is missing a set of wheels. The Bing BW mark is on the bottom. Bing is a German company who produced trains in both Germany and Bavaria. They were famous for their line of toy trains and competed with all the famous makers at that time. Before WWI and a little bit afterwards, they exported trains distinctly made for the US market, not just altered copies of the European models. This car is from an O gauge electric set that originally had a cast iron S type loco. We have the chair car to this set up in a separate auction, as well as a Bing tender.
