This is a very rare antique 1920s New York To Paris Aero Race toy game. It was made to reflect the competition between aviators Charles Lindbergh, Clarence Chamberlain and Richard Byrd to see who was going to make the first trans-atlantic flight. As we know Lindbergh was the first to do so in 1927. This game was made by the by the Bar-Zim Toy Manufacturing Company, INC in New York. It measures approximately 4 by 3 1/2 by 1 inches. A metal frame holds together a glass window on top and a cardboard "map" showing 3 planes with the names Lindy, Chamberlin(mis-spelled) and Byrd flying over the Atlantic Ocean. The back tells you that the goal of the game is to place all 3 planes in the hangar at New York, then land them(through small openings) in their corresponding colored hangars in Paris. The "planes" are actually little red, white and blue capsules that jump around with a metal bearing inside. This toy is in great condition. The glass is perfect. The metal frame is very clean and strong. The back has a small crease near the right edge. It will be a long time before we see this rare toy again and if we do it likely won't be as clean as this one. $5 will be added for secure shipping. I don't take Paypal.
