Available to you today is a wonderful old Homer Laughlin gravy boat with separate matching under-plate in the Empress design and Bluebird pattern. This piece is marked with a manufacture date of 1920, and was a superb Estate sale find! This lovely gravy boat and matching under-plate is white with a fine blue band that rims the gravy boat and plate. A cute trio of bluebirds adorn the gravy boat as well as the under-plate. The plate is 7-1/4" in length, 4-3/4" in width and 3/4" in depth. The gravy boat measures 7-3/8" from the handle edge to the tip of the spout, 4-1/4" in width and is 2-3/4" to the lip rim and 3-3/8" to the top of the handle. Both pieces are in wonderful condition for their age; the under-plate is free of chips, nicks or cracks. The gravy boat is free of nicks and cracks but does have one small chip on the rim that is VERY old as it has worn smooth over the years. It can be seen in photo seven, along the rim on the right side. Both pieces do show crazing as is to be expected from a piece of this age. This will make a lovely addition to your Empress Bluebird or any bird themed collection! It is getting harder to find gravy boats with matching under-plates that are in good condition.
