RARE AND AUTHENTIC 1920's HUBLEY CAST IRON LEFT FACING BLACK AND WHITE BOSTON TERRIER BULLDOG BULL DOG DOOR STOP DOORSTOP !! This is the Scarcely Found and Highly Sought-After HUBLEY Manufacturing Company, Lancaster, PA, LEFT FACING Boston Terrier in the Black and White with ORIGINAL PAINT . The Hubley Left-Facing Boston Terrier with Eyes rimmed in White is pictured in John and Nancy Smithâe(tm)s " The Doorstop Book ", and also in Baker and Hillerâe(tm)s " Boston Terrier Collectibles ". It measures about 10" tall and 9" long. Most cast iron Boston Terrier Doorstops of the 1920s-1930s were made facing to the right, but a few companies put out a left facing version, making them rarer and more valuable today. Hubleyâe(tm)s is the most recognizable, with its brightly circled, white rimmed eyes. They were put out in Brindle and Black and White. This Hubley dog is in good vintage condition, with most of its hand air-brushed, original black and white paint. T are some areas of age discoloration and chipping. It is a two piece casting held together with a flathead screw. Even though the putty is missing from the head of the screw, it has never been removed and the seams are still tight and show no separation. He still has the alert, watchful expression that Hubley put on his face and the patina is wonderful! Other than normal 80+ year old paint aging, t is no damage to the cast iron. This antique dog weighs approximately 7 pounds. This great Original Hubley would make a wonderful addition to any vintage or antique doorstop collection!! T is NO RESERVE and FREE SHIPPING with INSURANCE INCLUDED!
