Jimmy's KITCHEN S hanghai circa 1920s VINTAGE FOLD-OUT MENU and POSTCARD On sale is this 'Jimmy's Kitchen - Shanghai' package deal: a rare pocket-size fold-out menu plus a colour postcard featuring a scene on Nanking Road looking east towards the Bund and the harbour, with the Cathay Hotel / Sassoon House on the left corner and the Jimmy's sign on a wall facing the road on the right. Jimmy's 'Look-See Menu' comes from the 1920s when the famous restaurant was in Szechuen Road . It consists of three panels each 85mm (3⅜") x 140mm (5½") folding out to a width of 250mm ( 10" ). The menu features Jimmy's 'Broadway Lunch' (which started in 1926) and a photo, presumably of Jimmy himself. Its condition is a little browned, creased across the top corners, with the residue of something once pasted to the top of the centre panel on one side. The postcard is unused, of Japanese manufacture, measures 140mm (5½") x 90mm (3½") and is in very good condition.
