presents 1928 McCall # 5155 ~ Afternoon or Dinner Dress in "Robe de Style" Flair ~ Member of the Costumer's Guild West, International Costume Guild and Costume Society of America . ~ Description ~ This is an ORIGINAL pattern offered by McCall in 1928. T are various collar options. The robe de style skirt is quite flattering, especially beautiful (I think) is the way the waistline dips in front. The long, lean Flapper Dress is a popular silhouette from the 1920's, but lesser known is the "Robe de Style" look. It is elegant, flattering, and has as many design options as any flapper dress. Check out this photo of an original robe de style vintage dress for an idea of how lovely you can make up this pattern: McCall's was still publishing the "Printo Gravure" patterns in 1927, so each pattern piece is printed with instructions.
