Vintage Monarch Crystal Detector Radio, manufactured in the twenties by the Rippner Bros. Mfg Co., of Cleveland Ohio. This is one of a small number of vintage sets mounted on a base for ease of operation ( Martian 4 and Little Gem come to mind), and is in good working order. I connected the set to an outdoor aerial, and ground and received stations with surprisingly good selectivity, using the single slider tuning. The radio is finished in black wrinkle, and is in good condition. The only flaw is to the panel as seen in the images. The coil is tightly wound on a retectangular block, with a smooth operating control knob. It is unusual to see this set complete, and good condition, most are missing the base or mounting rings. This is you chance to own an stunning slant top crystal radio. Please email me any questions.
