Today's auction is for an old, hand woven Indian rug, probably Navajo. This came out of a local estate sale at a ranch in Nebraska. It is made of coarse, hand spun wool in four colors - natural cream, brownish black,coffee-with-cream brown and red. The first three colors are the natural colors of the wool and vary throughout the rug. Thered appears to be a natual dye of some type as it has a soft, not garish hue. It was hand dyed as it varies quite a bitin shade from one section to the next. Part of the edge of both sides appears to be a little faded as if it was folded on ashelf and got sunlight to a small section. One of the tassels has a little fading to it also. The rug measures 39 inches by 60 inches, not including the 6 inch long tassels on each of the 4 corners. It has no mothdamage (which is common). It also smells okay. T are no holes or frayed out spots either. T are three littlebrown marks. I showed two in the photos. One may be just a different color of wool. I have not washed it and do notknow if they would come out or not. Not readily apparent from a couple of feet away. This rug would look great hung on a cabin or ranch house wall as it has a bold, graphic appeal. Shipping is a little highas it weighs over 6 pounds without packaging materials. No handling charge.Happy bidding.Happy bidding
