1920s Style Midnight Navy Blue Goldstone (Sandstone) Cabochon Earrings Glamorous and fun (nice & long!) earrings made with sparkling Blue Goldstone beads and silver plated beads & ear studs. Measurements The earrings have a drop of nearly 1 3/4" (4 cm) from the bottom of the ear and hang from silver plated ear studs so for pierced ears only. About Blue Goldstone Blue Goldstone is a man-made stone and is made by adding Copper Salts to glass in a furnace. The Copper is suspended in the glass and give it its characteristic glitter ! Goldstone is still made in Italy today by members of a single monastic community although Goldstone is also commercially made elsewhere these days. There are stories about how Goldstone is thought to have been discovered by alchemists whilst on their lifelong quest to transmute base metals into gold! It is said to be a gently uplifting stone and the therapeutic properties of copper are also available to the wearer! Goldstone is a manmade "stone" but it is still prone to imperfections.
