Alabama 2x2 1921 Silver Half Dollar:To Commemorate the Centennial of Alabama's admission to the Union, the 1921 Alabama Centennial was authorized by Congress. The incused 2x2 is refers to the state's status of being the 22nd state (the x is actually Saint Andrew's cross and not a multiplication symbol). Consensus differs as to the order in which the plain and 2x2 issues were struck, but suffice it to say, the 2x2's are typically more attractive and more sought after as they form their own short set of officially counterstamped classic commemorative designs. Coin looks nicer in person than in pictures. Please let me know if you have any questions prior to bidding.
