Aloha, Up for auction from a recent client of mine in Honolulu Hawaii this Chelsea Ships Clock that shows the serial number 133713 and was sold to the Coast Guard by the Chelsea Clock Company in 1921. It was installed in a cutter named Haida that saw extensive duty in the Pacific during WWII. The ship was commissioned on October 26, 1921 and was decommissioned on February 13, 1947. The clock was part of the inventory of the house that my client’s family purchased in 1954 in Honolulu. The previous owner had worked at Pearl Harbor. How he received the clock is unknown. However the history of the clock has been recorded by the US Coast Guard and the information was send to my client in 1973 and is part of the sale. The clock has been serviced by the Chelsea clock company 3 times since 1954 and is in excellent condition. It has been mounted on a custom made mahogany stand. I tried to photograph the US Haida name on the rim of the clock housing but because it is really rubbed/polished down it did not show as clear as I was hoping for. T is another photo that shows a tiny nick in the outer rim of the clocks housing – it is hard to see but I wanted to include it into the listing. Measurements: The diameter of the dial is 8 ¼ inches and the total diameter, including the brass front is 10 ¼ inches. The clocks mahagony base is 26 inches x 11 inches and the upper part of the stand is 15 inches high by 24 inches long. Shipping: The clock is attached to the stand with 3 screws in the back and the upper part of the stand is connected to the base by 2 long screws. The clock will be packed separately from the stand in a special padded box!!! Part of the sale: 1. Chelsea Clock 2. Mahogany stand + screws 3. Key 4. Coast Guard official history documents 5. Chelsea service record book Email me with questions!!! Bid with confidence!!! More pictures are available!!! Items sold as is!!! EBay buyers - I appreciate your business.
