This is a stunning hand painted pottery art deco 1922 centre piece for a fire place mantle,it would have held tapers ,matches and you could strike the match on the yellow area at the front this is slightly rough.The shape is superb typical of this lovely vibrant time this is very much in the Clarice Cliff style,it was produced by William Bennett Hanley Ltd England designed by Mabel V Hodgkiss all of this is the back stamp .The size is 4 1/4" high x 8 1/2" long x 3 1/2" deep,apart from a small chip on the back rim of where the tapers stand and slight surface wear on the green and a small area of crazing at the back no other damage or repair.International bidders welcome.Check out my other items !
