I have recently acquired a Lincoln Head Wheat Penny collection from an Estate. I do not know coins very well, but have decided to sell them individually. A search of my other auctions will reveal many RARE and HARD TO FIND Wheat Pennies including a 1922 No D, a 1932 D and 1932, 1916-D, 1924 S, ETC. The pennies were on a 1909-1940 Lincoln Head Penny Cardboard Collection Coin Board display and I have included a picture of that display (with some coins removed or missing) in each auction. Courtesy of a popular Wheat Penny website" " What happens when a mintmark is supposed to be stamped on a coin but never gets there? You have, in most cases, a popular rarity. That's what happened when a small number of the 7,160,000 Lincoln wheat pennies the Denver mint produced in 1922 never received a "D" under the date on their cents thanks to a problem with the die. Examples of the 1922-D wheat penny with no trace of the "D" evident can fetch over $400 in the lowest grades. Beware, however, of regular 1922-D cents which have had their "D" mintmarks worn off by unscrupulous types" . CONDITION: Coin shows age, the reverse is much stronger than front. I know very little about coins so I hope my pictures are able to do the Wheat Penny justice. I have tried to get the best possible pictures to let you decide on condition because I do not know how coin condition is rated. I have not cleaned the coin and have studied the coin and have found no traces of the D mark or tampering with the area.
