Lincoln Memorial - Original 1922 Dedication Program LINCOLN MEMORIAL - 1922 DEDICATION Rare Program for the "Dedication of the Lincoln Memorial," 4pp, 12.25" x 10", held on "Decoration Day" [Memorial Day, 5/29], 1922. Printed by the United States of America Government Printing Office. The monument was presented to the nation by former President William Howard Taft, chair of the Memorial Commission, and accepted by then-President Warren Harding. Also in attendance was Lincoln's oldest son, Robert Todd Lincoln (d. 1926), former U.S. Secretary of War. Light stain at left edge of front cover and light wear on front and back covers; small ball-point ink mark on back cover, otherwise in very good condition, quite exceptional for its age. A great piece of Lincolniana, and very timely, as the Lincoln Memorial was recently re-dedicated on May 30, 2009, in a ceremony similar to this 1922 dedication. We will combine shipping on multiple items. Insurance is optional. Please visit our other auctions. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding.
