1923 Rare Eting figure of Isadora Duncan Etling deepest blue/amber opalescent car mascot/table decoration, depicting the famous dancer Isadora Duncan.. Created by Lucille Sevin, 1923 - 1928, Moulded 'Etling France' and '50' on the side of the base, 205mm high, 245 mm high including the table mount. Photographed in 'Opalescence' by Pierre Decelle. Etling was a very famous, highly regarded French glass factory, based at 29, Rue de Paradis, Paris. They produced very high quality glassware alongside R. Lalique, to whom they were a close rival. About Etling: La Societe Anonyme Edmond Etling was founded after the First World War in Paris. Etling was a retailer who commissioned art works in bronze, ceramics and glass (mostly from French artists). Amongst the most famous designers of glass for Etling were Lucille Sevin and Genevieve Granger. The glass pieces were usually made for Etling at the Choisy-le-Roi glassworks, close to Paris. Etling supported 'ETALEUNE', an atelier that recruited promising artists to design art glass, which it then produced and marketed. Their entire output was produced during the Art Deco period, as the company did not survive the Second World War. This fabulous and rare survivor is in mint, original condition, with no flaws or restoration whatsoever. The blue opalescence is especially deep and the detail is outstanding. It is sold complete with it's correct chrome display mount, which can be wired for internal illumination.
