SHACKLETON'S LAST VOYAGE: The Story of "THE QUEST" Written by Commander Frank Wild, C.B.E.Spine lists publisher as Cassell Title page lists publisher as Frederick A. Stokes Company, New York Research shows this as the American First Edition With Frontispiece in colour, numerous maps, and over 100 Illustrations from Photographs From the Official Journal and Private Diary kept by Dr. A. H. Macklin Good condition. Front cover has an embossed picture and text. Picture shows the ship at sea with the sun's golden rays behind. Hinges are tight with no cracking. The only significant flaw is a 1.5" tear in the top of the spine. There is also some bumping at the bottom of the spine. Bottom and long page edge have foxing. The pages themselves also have some foxing, but I estimate that at least half the pages don't have any foxing. It's the think paper that has texture and really feels like paper. The edges are rough cut. This book was privately owned and has a name written neatly in pen on the front end page. It was given as a gift for Christmas, 1925. No other writing or marks inside.
