Offered is an original cast bronze figural tray made by the Gorham Co. Founders in 1924 for Rolls Royce. These trays were presented as gifts to the North American dealerships. Featured in the center is an early nickel-plated bronze version of the "Spirit of Ecstasy" by British sculptor Charles Sykes, still used on the Rolls Royce today. The tray stands 5 1/8" tall, and is 5 5/8" in diameter. The Gorham Foundry mark and the letter code QBAU is stamped in the side of the tray. The Gorham ledger shows a hand-written entry with the code QCAU, dated 1924, corresponding to these trays, so either the stamp or the entry is in error. In any case, this is an original cast in fine condition. It is cast in two separate pieces, as it should be. T are a few rubs to the patina, but the metal is in excellent condition. This is quite a rare item, though I am offering it with no hidden reserve and a low starting bid. No buy-it-now on this. Buyer to pay priority post and ins. (12.00) Thanks
