This is a Western Electric B1 telephone. My dad worked for the telephone company since he was a young man. He retired about 20 years ago. He collected a few phones over the years. This being one of them. I will do my best to describe it and I have taken several photos both inside and out to give you an idea of the condition of the phone. I am not a collector, but it appears to be in very good condition in my opinion. The paint looks original and in good condition, for its age. It appears to be complete and original. It is missing the cord as you can see from the photos. The back of the base is marked "WESTERN ELECTRIC MADE IN U S A PAT IN U S A SEPT 16 24 PATS APP FOR" The back side of the dial is marked "WESTERN ELECTRIC MADE IN U S A PAT IN U S A AUG 13 12 AUG 24 15 DES MAY 7 18 SEPT 13 21" The back of the neck of the base is stamped "B1" The receiver is marked "TRADE MARK Western Electric REG US PAT OFF E1 MADE IN U S A" The dial is a 2Hb. This telephone is being sold as is. Prior models had been of the "candlestick" type, which featured a transmitter fixed to the base, and a receiver held read more
