This is an Antique 1926 PROHIBITION ALCOHOL PRESCRIPTION This prescription was issued by the Doctor on January 28, 1926 for WHISKEY - as Directed It was filled by the Pharmacist on January 28, 1926 for Mr. Jacob D Jacobs. It measures 6 1/2 inches by 4 3/4 inches. This Prohibition Prescription comes from the time when Marijuana was legal, and Whiskey was NOT! It combines the 18th Amendment - The Roaring Twenties - The "Speak-Easies" The Black Friday Stock Crash - Elliot Ness and the Untouchables - And the Mafia All Rolled Up Into ONE: This prescription was prescribed on form #1403, The revised edition of 1922, and Issued by the Treasure Department, U.S. Internal Revenue, Titled " PRESCRIPTION BLANK - NATIONAL PROHIBITION ACT " It has a beautiful pattern on the front, and (for security reasons). it is water-marked " PROHIBITION " Due to the 18th Amendment ( PROHIBITION ) From January 16, 1920 to December 5,1933, Beer, Alcohol, Whiskey, & Wines Could only be purchased legally by the use of authorized forms filled out by a Doctor.
