You are bidding on a 1926 Dayton Pump Co. "Rapid Dayton" model(cut) 450 10 gallon visible gas pump. Other interests have relegated this to the future projects list, and I'd prefer to see it go to a good home rather than languish in the garage. Though partially disassembled,it is very complete;missing the lower "skins" from the body. It has the original bluish-tint 10 gallon glass cylinder in VERY good condition. The gallon adjustment lever/mechanism still works, and the metering rods(with Bureau of Weight and Measures calibration tags) still turn. The upper cast iron top has a piece broken away from it;I do have that piece. This pump, though somewhat repainted in its life, had originally been painted in Standard Oil Co. "Solite" colors(Red/Light blue-refer to the great Jack Sims book on pumps),thought the light blue has been covered up with dark blue. It also had a "screw-on" Crown installed originally, and the screw attachment for the globe is rust bonded to the top. Other than the missing skins, this is a very complete candidate for a restoration project. Feel free to request more pics,or to schedule an appointment to further view this pump. Please check my other current andupcoming auctions for gas and oil items, more HO scale train items andmagazines(a lot of that coming),and vintage snowmobile related items.
The Details: Payment is expected within ten (10) days of close of auction,or negative feedback will be left,Ebay contacted and the item re-listed. If t are extenuating circumstances, please notify(Hey,Life happens...) if t is a problem. Down payment of US$200.00 can be made via Paypal, money order,or personal check(may hold 10 days);no Western Union Bidpay. This is a pickup only item;t will be no attempt to ship this. Thank you for viewing and possibly bidding.
