This is a 1926 Gibson TB-3 Mastertone archtop banjo. Originally a 4 string, the banjo was sent into Gibson approximately 20 years ago and, was fitted with a five string neck with the period hearts and flowers - so it's all Gibson and a fantastic sounding one it is. I am the 3rd owner and have only owned it for about a year. As a guitar player, this is just way too much banjo for me. This instrument is in beautiful condition, and except for the neck and head, is all original. It also has the Bill Keith dropped D tuners and nice plush hard shell case. The original case and neck are long gone. Also included and pictured is the original sales receipt from 1926.
