Published by Beta Theta Pi. The Collegiate Press. George Banta Publishing Company. Menasha, Wisconsin. 1927. Illustrated. 476 pages including "Name Index". Decorated en-pages. Interior remains tight, clean and complete. Pages with minor toning remain better than average. Publishers red cloth exterior with some wear and scuffing. Some spotting to the front board. Title and decoration to the front board remains. "Property of Massachusetts Tech. Chapter" to front board. Title, author and date to backstrip remains with some fading. Some minor wear and rubbing to the head and toe of bacsktrip. Everything being said volume remains better than average. A fantastic find for the collector or anyone interested in this subject matter. Not common. 9.25 by 6.25 inches.Contents include; The First Year, The Civil War Period, Reconstruction and Reconsecration, The Shadow of World War, The Decade following the War, The beta Theta Pi Magazine, The Songs of the Fraternity, The Insignia, The Code of Beta Theta Pi and much more. According to Wikipedia.....Beta Theta Pi is a social collegiate fraternity that was founded in 1839 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, USA, w it is part of the Miami Triad which includes Phi Delta Theta and Sigma Chi. Beta, as it is nicknamed, was the first college fraternity to be founded west of the Allegheny Mountains, and it has 120 active chapters and colonies in the United States and Canada. Over 190,000 (2010) members have been initiated worldwide, with ~133,000 of those living. Beta Theta Pi currently has more than 5,500 undergraduate members. Beta's Administrative Office is located at 5134 Bonham Road, Oxford, Ohio. In 2006, the driveway up to the administrative office was renamed "Lugar-Bates Drive" in appreciation for the work that Senator Richard Lugar Denison '54 and Bert Bates Missouri '56 performed in the $20 million "Upon These Principles" capital campaign.
