This is a really nice and quite rare original Menu and souvenir Program for an evening Banquet honoring the great record-breaking Aviator, Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh, which was held in the Fiesta Ball Room of the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California on the 20th of September, 1927. The event was part of a series of banquets held around the country that year following Lindbergh's famed solo crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, and the text at the front of the Menu proclaims him to be "a Columbus of the air!"...the text written in Lindy's honor is credited to Otheman Stevens, and the interior of the menu, on the page facing the listing of the evening's repast, has a list of Speakers at the Banquet, including Chamber of Commerce President S. F. McGarry, the Honorable George F. Cryer, Honorable Oscar Lawler, and Lindbergh himself speaking on Civil Aviation. The fare at table included Canape of Fresh Caviar, Strained Chicken Gumbo, Brook Trout saute Doria, Stuffed Jumbo Squab, California Salad, Glace Surprise, Demi tasse, Cigars, etc., and the menu is decorated with vignettes in gilt of the Pilot's airplane, "The Spirit of St. Louis", the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Skyscrapers of New York, with the menu front cover bold relief portrait illustration of Lindbergh in gilt, with his facsimile signature likewise in gilt beneath his
