For your consideration today is this vintage 1927 Illinois Central Railroad train and travel guide titled Hot Springs National Park Arkansas that is full of many neat photo's of historic places and towns along the route. This is pretty fun travel booklet that has some light wear and tear on the surface, but the inside pages are in very nice shape, so all the neat pictures have been kept in great shape for all these decades! The booklet is dated on the inside of the back with January 1927, it is 32 pages long, not including the front and back covers, it measures 9" tall by 6" wide, the front shows the title nicely as well as the Illinois Central name, along with The Road of Travel Luxury, t is some damage to the lower right corner that has a tear to the creased spot but the piece is still t, t is some light spotting around the top that does not show very bad, and just some light scuff or wear marks that are also minimal. The back is clean with some normal shelf wear or marks. But, the great majority of the inside pages are very nice and clean, with high gloss pages that show just fine, the pages are all intact nicely and the two staples are holding them fine, t is one early page that has a small damage to one corner, but the rest are so nice with just a touch of handling or wear that is pretty minimal. T is so much info, and so many fine photo's in this booklet, and will give you an idea of some places or buildings that are shown in the pictures. One main part is the two page spread in the very middle that shows 12 different buildings, and this alone is a great display feature! Pictures include The Ozark Mountains, business section of Hot Springs, Valley of Contentment in Hot Springs National Park, t are actually quite a few from the National Park, Golf Links and Country Club, Government Reservation in Hot Springs, Ouachita River, Fountain Lake, Fordyce Bath House, Como Hotel, Lamar Bath House, Eastman Hotel, Buckstaff Bath House, Arlington Hotel and Baths, Moody Hotel, Maurice Bath House, New Imperial Bath House, Majestic Hotel and Annex, Howe Hotel, and Quapaw Bath House. Boy, they sure must have stayed clean with all those bath houses!! Then on to the Hoke Smith Fountain, Hotel Pullman, Rockafellow Hotel, Army and Navy Hospital, one neat picture shows a street by the Ozarks that has many antique autos lining the streets, Iron Springs, Arbordale Park and Fountain Lake and the Remmel Dam. This is a very neat booklet that has so many fine pictures and history from the Hot Springs and Ozark Arkansas area, and would be a fine piece for any vintage travel or railroad related collection!
