You are bidding on a bound volume of facimile edition of Vanity Fair for the years of 1916-Jan thru June This book was printed in 1960s by University Microfilms. All pages are black and white. The covers are all artist drawn by very famous illustrators of the period. The ads are for perfumes, , toothpaste, fashion, tires insurance, hotels, boats, autos such as PAIGE, Murray, Cole Aero Eight, White, Apperson 8, Willys Knight, Mercer, Winton, Pierce Arrow, Locomobile, Daniels, Kissel, Biddle, Packard, etc. There are many golf related ads and articles. Several ads are illustrated by famous illustrators such Coles Phillips, Leyendecker and Newberry. This book is bound in a beautiful silver cloth hard cover with black as shown. This volume weighs 10 lbs and the dimension are 9.5 x13" Condé Nast began his empire by purchasing the men's fashion magazine Dress in 1913. He renamed the magazine Dress and Vanity Fair and published four issues in 1913. It continued to thrive into the twenties. It became a casualty of the Great Depression and declining advertising revenues . Vanity Fair folded into Vogue as of the March 1936 issue. Condition: EX-Mint Library stamp on outside pages. This is a rare find and a great reference for Vanity Fair magazine for a reasonable price. I have several volumes that I will be listing so watch for my listings.
