September 3, 1927, New York Central Railroad public timetable Form 1001, system-wide timetable for the New York Central (this was a period when separate timetables were issued for the Boston & Albany, Michigan Central, and Big Four and thus this timetable does not show trains operating exclusively over their lines) Measures approximately 4" x 9" when unopened Standard four-panel format Consists of 62 panels (31 pages) Includes condensed tables for through service, as well as detailed schedules showing both main and branch line service The condensed tables are numbered 1-13 and extend over eight panels, while the detailed schedules are numbered 18-75 (although not all numbers may have been used) and extend over 24 panels Includes nine columns, extending over six panels, showing the consists of individual trains Has this interesting note on panel 16 - "The 20th Century Limited and other New York Central passenger trains are frequently operated in two or more sections. It is tfore necessary that friends who expect to wire you en route, or meet you at stations, should know the number of your Pullman car as well as the number or name of your train".
