This is a large 1927 Railroad Map of Newfoundland. It measures 28 X 20 inches. It is quite detailed, showing some topography, the towns, the railroad line, and other landmarks as they existed in 1927. On its face it has an index of the Railroad in existence at the time in Newfoundland. See scans.One of the joys of collecting is to own a copy no one else has. If a stamp or coin were to exist with only two copies known, the price of such a item would be out of the normal persons grasp. No researcher, no railroad history book or collectors guide would have pictures to reference such an item, you would be the only source.According to only one other copy of this atlas is known and it is in the The British Library, British National Bibliography, BNB, Wetherby, West Yorkshire, LS23 7BQ United Kingdom. It is possible another copy may exist unknown to the collecting public and may surface in the future. But if even a dozen of these atlases are later found, the value of this map would not diminish. We started collecting railroad maps in 1968 and we have never seen this edition ever. Note: We have included a scan of the cover of the atlas this map was extracted from. This map is wax engraved and was issued as part of the Rand McNally Commercial Atlas, to be used by shippers and businesses to get their goods to customers and markets. During
