1928 Calendar Plate -- Woods Ware -- Blue & White This blue and white calendar plate has a centered image of two geese with the words "Good Luck" written below. The calendar pages are arrayed around the border of the plate in groups of three and the calendar pages have been rotated so that the days run down the left side and the week runs from top to bottom -- it takes a moment for your brain to translate this. T are two swastikas on the sides of the plate, but given that this was 1928, their meaning was strictly "Well-Being for All." This is a Woods Ware plate and the manufacturer's mark is clearly printed on the back of the plate. The plate was distributed: Geo. Perinet,Megantic,Que. The size (diameter) is 9" across. In the first picture, t is a shadow on the top right side and a shiny reflection on the bottom left side. The color of the plate is the same everyw On the back of the plate, the shadows and reflections are reversed. The lines on the bottom left on the back of the plate are reflections. The plate is in very good to excellent condition. T are no chips or cracks, and only some very light scratches -- you have to hold the plate to the light to see them. T is no crazing on the front and just the start of some crazing on the back. T are some light age stains on the front at the top and bottom and t are two brown marks read more
