As you browse the auctions, please visit our Guide To Collecting Charles Lindbergh Memorabilia . This lot is an original 1928 Charles Lindbergh Latin America Goodwill Tour cover from Havana, Cuba. It's one of a large group of Havana covers we're offering this evening. Havana was the last stop on Lindbergh's Latin America Goodwill tour before returning to St. Louis. Our offerings will include a wide variety of cachets including several of the rare "Island" cachet. Lindbergh arrived in Havana on February 8th and left on February 13th. This cover is signed by Pilot Edwin Musick, was sent from Havana, Cuba to Key West, Florida, and is postmarked February 8th, 1928. The cover has the famous "We" cachet with the Cuban C-2 Lindbergh stamp as a first day use and has a delivery backstamp in Key West on February 8th at 6:30 PM. The cover was opened at the backflap. Condition: AU. Listed in the American Air Mail Catalogue as L218. The pilot who signed the cover, Edwin Musick, was one of the most famous pilots of the era and was the chief pilot of Pan Am Airways Caribbean Division. Lindbergh left Port-au-Prince, Haiti at 6:35 AM on February 8th and entered Cuba's territorial airspace near the Guantanamo Naval Base and flew along the read more
