Here's a nice 1928 Standing Liberty Quarter with a bold shooting star die break on the obverse. The late Standing Liberty Quarter specialist Jay Cline first identified this type of die break on a 1928-S Standing Liberty Quarter and dubbed it a "shooting star" because the star appears to be leaving a trail behind it. Chris Corwin discovered the 1928 shooting star, and it was featured in an article that appeared in Coin World . This variety is also recognized by ANACS and is listed in Standing Liberty Quarter Varieties & Errors (2d ed.) as K-0161.
