RARE 1929 BIRDS OF SOUTHERN RHODESIA 'ZIMBABWE' AFRICA Description: From 1929, the first edition of A Guide to the Birds of Southern Rhodesia, and a Record of their Nesting Habits, by Capt. Cecil D. Priest, Late of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. With 14 Colored and 112 Black and White Illustrations. Published in London by William Clowes & Sons, Ltd., by arrangement with the High Commissioner for Southern Rhodesia, 1929. A handsome book bound in green cloth with gilt titles. 10x6 inches. Printed on nice quality coated stock paper. 233 pages. The book is part of an extraordinary library of rare animal and bird books put together by Hillard Pearson, of Southbury, CT. At one time, he ran a rare animal preserve and zoo in Southbury. With his rubber stamp and an inscription, To Dr. Sampson, from the Murphree Family, Old Umtah, S. Rhodesia, Africa. Christmas 1935. In grateful appreciation.
