Dated and Signed 1929 Antique Sampler - 79 Years Old Provenance on Back 100% ORIGINAL I've decided to downsize my antique and vintage sampler collection. Offered for sale is 79 year old linen cross stitch silhouette sampler signed NBR and dated 1929. It features a silhouette of a man on a very fancy carriage or buggy pulled by a horse. The old piece of cardboard backing says N.B.R. is Nell Belle Richardson of Greensville, PA (Mrs. Edna Richardson (Sr). This framed sampler measures 12-7/8" x 16." It is framed under glass and in its original black high gloss lacquered frame. The old frame is in nice condition with a few minor scuffs. It is nicely hand stitched with no missing or loose stitches and the colors are bright with no fading. No pulls, snags, or holes. This sampler is being sold as I purchased it, and I do not believe it has ever been taken apart since it was created. The linen is clean and has the characteristic woven nubs of linen. To preserve it for another 70+ years, it should be mounted to acid-free board. The sampler shifts in the frame and doesn't quite fill the frame around the edges. Remounting it would take care of this. I've run out of wall space, and this sampler needs a good home and someone who will appreciate it. SHIPPING - USA Only Buyers from the 48 contiguous states with a confirmed address in the lower 48 United States to pay for USPS shipping, delivery confirmation and optional insurance from zip code 48307. I do not charge a handling or packing fee. The shipping cost is determined by the United States Postal Service system. Their fees are based on weight and distance from my zip code to yours. So you know the amount you will be charged, please use the USPS shipping calculator to determine the cost to your address. Since I am selling personal items, I do not final pack the item until it is sold and paid for. I weigh the item in the empty box and add on 1 pound (slightly more if the item is large) for the weight of the packing materials, label, and tape. I pack my items carefully, but seller assumes no responsibility for loss or damage incurred during shipping (I can not control how it is handled once it leaves my possession). Optional buyer paid insurance is always available, and recommended for fragile and expensive items. To save on shipping costs, I will gladly combine purchases if it is safe to do so. I work full time but try very hard to ship packages within 48 hours of receiving payment. However, unexpected bad weather or my work schedule could delay that. I will send you an email with the Delivery Confirmation tracking number when your package is sent. PAYMENT - BY MONEY ORDER OR PAYPAL ONLY (No personal checks). PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED WITHIN 7 DAYS AFTER THE CLOSE OF THE AUCTION. If payment is not received, I will contact eBay and appropriate feedback will be left.
