This auction offers you the opportunity to bid on an old antique blanket chest hope chest from The Ross Chests Company made around the 1930's. Nice old chest that cedar lined with Tennessee aromatic red cedar and expertly constructed with walnut panels and decorative burl walnut veneers.The Ross Chests Company was one of the Companies that were very comptative in making quality trunks in the early 1900's. They prided themselves in their expert craftsmanship in the construction of their chests. This is a full size blanket chest that measures 45" long and stands 23.5" high and is 18.5" in depth from front to back. The walnut finish is quite nice with a beautiful walnut grain on the hinged top that has a waterfall front edge. The front is highly decorative with herringbone veneers and burl walnut. It stands on bracket feet and has walnut grain side panels. T are some marks on it from use and some rippling on the veneer of the side panels. The fold out tray appears to have been a replacement and is in need of some felt cloth inside.Overall condition is good. If you are looking for an antique hope chest or blanket chest trunk, this is a good one to buy.
