This auction offers you the opportunity to bid on an exceptional old antique blanket chest hope chest from Lane made around the 1930's. The recall lock has been removed in accordance with ebay safety rules. A new lock can be obtained for free by contacting lane and providing the serial and model number on the bottom of the chest.Fantastic old chest that cedar lined with Tennessee aromatic red cedar and expertly constructed with walnut panels and decorative burl walnut veneers. Nice felt lined pullout tray for your treasured smalls with a special addition of a flip top box in the pull out tray.. Lane was the Company that lead the way in quality of these trunk in the early 1900's. They prided themselves in their expert craftsmanship boasting of mitered corner joints and Linderman glue dovetails joints in the construction of their chests. This is a full size blanket chest that measures 47" long and stands 24" high and is 19" in depth from front to back. The walnut finish is quite nice with a beautiful walnut grain on the hinged top that has a stepped edge. The front is has the deco style waterfall front design. It stands on pilaster feet and has walnut grain side panels. The condition is just wonderful with no flaws to mention. Perhaps a few small scuff from use but no damage anyw. If you are looking for a nice antique hope chest or blanket chest trunk, this is a good one to buy.
