Beautiful Art Deco Dresser with Wardrobe. Has streamlined detailing along edges and on original handles . The legs are streamlined geometric pillars. Solidly constructed out of pine with mahogany(?)veneer and cedar lined wardrobe.
Five drawers - increasing in size (top is smallest). The drawer faces are constructed so the wood grain makes a "v" in the center of the drawer- gorgeous! I think the veneer on the drawer faces is mahogany. Each drawer has 6 dovetail joints. Wardrobe closet - cedar lined. Has original hanging pole in closet. (see photo) All handles are original hardware with streamlined detailing. The handles are a bit worn and rusty. Aluminium? (see photo) The dresser has inserts for 4 wheels that are hidden by the bottom detailing. (see photo). Size : overall: 34"W x 19"D x 57 3/4"H wardrobe interior: 12"W x 18 1/4"D x 57"H, hanging rod is 8 1/2" from the front wardrobe door. drawers: all drawers are 18" w x 14 1/2" deep. The height varies: top: 6" second: 8 1/4 third: 9"h fourth: 11 1/2" fifth: 11 3/4" The only marks I could find on this dresser are two stamps on the back that read: I87-108A and 286. This dresser came from an estate sale in Ellenville NY. Condition : This dresser in is great condition. Only a few nicks near the bottom. T is a small area of patching (about 1 x 2") on the back left side of the dresser. The handles - are a bit rusted. This item is for pick up only. It can be delivered for an additional $75 if you live within 75 miles of NYC.
