ITEM: c.1930's Art Deco Industrial Workers Aluminum Bookends by Advance Aluminum Castings Corp. Chicago RARE. DESCRIPTION: This is a c.1930's Art Deco Industrial Workers Aluminum Bookends by Advance Aluminum Castings Corp. Chicago RARE. Fantastic Piece ! I believe this were made in the 1930's (although a friend of mine thinks they were made in the 1920's when all the industrial Deco items were popular) The company was started in 1910 and are known for fittings and castings for the industrial profession not bookends. So I believe these were premiums for t customers. They are made out of aluminum and show two shirtless foundry workers poring hot aluminum. The backs of each are marked: Advance Aluminum Castings Corp. 2742 W. 36th Place Chicago, Illinois Sand-Permanent Mold Aluminum Castings *Heat Treating* AACC. T are 2 holes in the base of each that were done in making I believe these were to add a wood base if one desired. CONDITION: This is in Very Good condition with some minor surface ware a few small scratches on edges, and minor discoloration of felt. T is a small rough spot on back side edge of one this appears to have been done in making.
