offered is a fabulous vintage 1930's art deco silver crest bronze inkwell and pen rest. the inkwell desk item features a wonderful streamline art deco design and is signed on underside- silver crest - genuine bronze - plus some numbers and odd symbols. silver crest was manufactured by Smith Metal Arts Co. Fred Smith was Heintzâe(tm)s sales manager and designed similar high quality household accessory items - mostly in modernistic streamline machine age design. the inkwell measures 7" wide x 6-1/4" deep x about 4-1/2" tall and is in very good used condition. t is an old sticker remnant on right side and some small dirt spots on the left side of indent of pen rest. i believe both will clean with proper care. the patina has a very nice aged color. the inkwell pulls out and looks complete - although t is something rattling inside. i am not sure how to open it and will leave as-is. the silver crest pen rest was reflective and looks much better in person. this wonderful vintage deco pen rest inkwell would make a great gift or addition to your collection. it is quite showy and would look great on any desk or table. insurance optional-overseas is first class airmail. ship to italy via registered or express mail only.
