This is a vintage Camillus "Babe Ruth" pocket knife with celluloid handles, circa 1930s. It measures 2.5 inches long when closed and is cut in the shape of a baseball bat. Both handles are a confetti mix of red, green, yellow, black, blue and gold celluloid. One handle is stamped "Babe" Ruth with a baseball graphic. One side of the blade is stamped " CAMILLUS | CUTLERY CO. | CAMILLUS NY ".
This knife exists in several versions, but this is an early example with terrific confetti celluloid handles.
Condition is Very Good; clean bright celluloid with no chips or cracks, just minor edge nicks and light scratches. The blade is secure and opens with no wobble. The blade contour has been reduced somewhat due to sharpening, and t is some older dark corrosion. Still, this is a great displayable knife.
