RARE 1930'S HUBLEY SIGNED FRED EVERETT CAST IRON " PHEASANT " DOOR STOP DOORSTOP #458, NEAR MINT! This is one of the rarest doorstops manufactured by Hubley Manufacturing Company, Lancaster, PA, in the 1930's! Highly sought after, this antique hand painted wildlife doorstopper depicting a Beautiful Hand Painted Long Tailed Pheasant in a thicket, is signed " © Fred Everett " on the front just below the tail. The Hubley catalog number " 458 " is impressed on the back side (See photo). This Doorstop has almost all of its Original Paint and is in very nearly Mint Condition with some minor loss on the head and a few scrapes and t Fred Everett was a well known illustrator of birds in the 1930's. He only produced three designs for Hubley; " Three Geese", "Quail", and "Pheasant ". You rarely find an example of this doorstop in any condition, let alone nearly pristine like this one! It measures a large 8 1⁄2" tall by 7 1⁄2" wide. I have provided a photo from John and Nancy Smithâe(tm)s " The Doorstop Book " and you can see that this doorstop rivals the example in their book! You will not believe how well preserved and clean this doorstop is! T is NO RESERVE and LOW SHIPPING with INSURANCE INCLUDED!
