Vintage 1930's Japanese Putz House w/ DOGHOUSE! Cardboard & wood construction ~ Embossed roof Size ~ 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 4 inches A nice vintage Putz house done in the heavily-lacquered 30's Japanese technique resulting in a thicker & more substantial structure for these popular vintage Christmas decorations. Condition is good, but not perfect. The 2 nd floor gable has its roofing turned from orange to white, but rather than detract it makes it look like it is covered with snow and remains structurally sound with no softening of the paper. The balance of the roof has faded slightly, mostly on the rear surface which also has some paint loss as shows in our photos. The bottom of the base was cut out many years ago to allow for lighting from below. This was done somewhat crudely as can be seen in the photographs. The fence features wood posts and slats that are sound & complete. Despite its flaws, this putz house still remains very attractive and solid. The photo flash has washed out the colors somewhat ~ this item looks much better in hand! Being sold as is, so please inspect the photos closely and ask any questions prior to bidding. Shipping in the USA is $5.00. A slight correction.... regarding the fence ~ the posts are wood, but the fence itself is made of the same cardboard material as the balance of the house.
