Remarkable, vintage 1930's crucifix of guilded bronze and wood, signed "Lambert Rucki". The wooden cross (which I believe is rosewood) is marked, "Modele Depose" on the back and, "ADALO Paris, Made in France" on the top. The cross measures 11 3/4" x 9 3/4"; the bronze Christ figure measures 8" high x 8" wide.
The crucifix is clean and in pristine condition (save for a small chip at 3 corners of the cross, which you should be able to see in the picture). You can count on careful packaging and adequate insurance for this rare treasure. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Jean Lambert-Ruck i 1888 - 1967 Lambert-Rucki was born in Cracow, Poland in 1888. He studied at the Fine Arts Academy of Cracow before he moved to Paris in 1911. He was mobilized in World War One, after the war he settled in the Montparnasse district. He became a naturalized French citizen in 1932.
