I couldn't believe I had the good fortune to find these pieces at a recent estate auction. After the auction someone asked me to sell a few pieces individually, but I decided that as they had remained together, as a set, for over 70+ years they should remain and be sold all together. is what I have, four 29 ounce square canisters, measuring 5 1/2" high, (without lids on) by 4 3/4" square. If you have any questions of the age of these pieces, let me reassure you, each of these canisters without the lid, weighs 2.6 pounds, that's a lot of Jadite! Rest assured, all the swirls, spaghetti marks and that wonderful Jadite color is as it should be in an original piece! One of the canisters still has the original SUGAR in black letters, but, alas, the others have been washed off over the years. The tops to these four canisters have the floral, or poinsettia pattern underneath. I was told that this is the most desirable of all to the Jadite collector. The 9 7/8" x 4 7/8", 2 5/8" high Refrigerator Dish also has it's lid, but is plain under the lid, no flowers. The small refrigerator dish measures 2 3/4" high by about 4 3/4" square. Not only does this piece have the floral design under the lid, it ALSO appears on the bottom of the dish! I have checked each piece and happy to report that the set is in amazing condition with a TINY bit of edge roughness and t, I am mentioning for the sake of accuracy. I should look so good at 70+. PLEASE NOTE, I have taken 2 close-up photo's for you see 2 chips, one being larger than the other and the most damage I could find. Also, t are a couple of small "hairline" cracks in the large refrigerator dish THAT DO NOT GO all the way through the glass, but found them under a very bright light and as always, if I see it I tell you about it. That said, this is truly an amazing Jadite set. A friend told me that the black transfer letters are sold at Michael's if you feel the need to re-label. Me, I just adore them just as they are. I promise to wrap and double box the set to insure their safe arrival to your door. This is an exceptional vintage set and will surely become the focal point and welcome addition to your kitchen Truly wonderful, I just adore it, I know you will too! I have placed a low $175.00 reserve. Please email questions before you bid. To be fair to all of my customers, I do not stop auctions once they begin, so please do not ask me to do so. High bidders pay exact shipping/insurance for Priority Mail or UPS Ground, which ever is the lesser amount to your address, plus a small 50 cent handling fee. Massachusetts buyers are required by State Law to pay our 5% Sales Tax. Thank you for "shopping" by.
Please note, I have been told that the four canisters are not the 29 ounce size as I had seen used in the reference book. Be assured, all of the measurements ARE ACCURATE, I did measure each and every piece myself. I apologize for any confusion and thank the Ebay member bringing this to my attention. Thanks again and have a good day. Susan
