Up for bids is a Vintage Oahu Guitar Package This is an awesome find. You are looking at a very rare guitar and amp set up. This is a complete set, which you just don't find. This is an Oahu Steel Lap Guitar and Amp. This is a great find because of the originality and the completeness of the package. First off, you obviously get the guitar, you also get the amp, but this also includes the original hard case, amp cover, original vintage guitar cable, vintage picks (2 Oahu, and one Fender thin), you also receive a Made in England Jew/Jaw Harp, a gig notebook from the 1930's, and a few other odds and ends. The notebook is really neat, it shows set lists and dates from when the original owner of this played. It says he played for "Lady Axuluxa or Axulura (hard to read)" on Tuesday, Feb 21, 1939, might have been someone important or royalty since they called her "lady" but I am unsure. So that shows this was an earlier model of this guitar. I believe production of these was done when the war started, so this is a prewar guitar. The condition on this is really nice for it's age. The guitar is really solid, it has some wear expected with something this old, but I would say it is in excellent condition for its age. The only damage I can really see is the wood is a little pushed in around the input and some of the tuners have crumbled with age (pieces are still in the box). I included the eBay max of 12 photos, so be sure to check the photos for condition and use your judgement since condition is subjective. The amp is in great shape, it has very little wear. I plugged it in and flipped the switch, it lit right up and turned on, the tubes start humming loudly so I shut it off, it may need some tube work but that is to be expected with something 70+ years old. I didn't want to mess with it too much since I am not an expert on these. Overall for being over 70 years old, I don't think this could be more complete or in better shape. This is a very rare and complete set, don't miss your chance to own it. You probably won't see another set this complete come up for sale, especially in this kind of condition. Don't miss out!
